Affinito's Bistro "Save The Boobs" Benefit Fundraiser
Co-Captain, Dyanne Rice Mogan, Karen Hand & team founder, Linda Kacmarsky
Once again, Affinito's Bistro in Anthem hosted a fun-filled evening to benefit Team W.I.S.Hl as they prepare for the 2008 Arizona 3-Day Breast Cancer Walk. The food was scrumptious, the entertainment was enjoyable and the bar was busy service 'pink drinks'. The highlight of the evening came when two servers auctioned off the opportunity to shave their heads to raise more money for the team, raising $615! "This was another opportunity for my family and me to help make a difference in the fight against breast cancer," said Chef Becca. "The next day," Becca said, "I went to visity my sister and gave my two young nieces hugs and hope that they won't have to know what breast cancer is all about."
The event raised $2,500 for Team W.I.S.H. to help in their fundraising for 2008 AZ 3-Day Beast Cancer Walk to be held in Phoenix, November 14-16 benefiting Susan G. Komen for the Cure and the National Philanthropic Trust.

April 5, 2008 - 3 Day Orientation Meeting, Anthem Community Center
Renewing friendships with renewing members and embarking on new friendships with new members!
Five months ago Team W.I.S.H. members were getting ready to walk the streets of Phoenix for 60 miles, for three days. But now, it's a new year and Team W.I.S.H., our Arizona 3Day coaches, Gina Guerreso, RobinShapiro & Maggie Barstow-Taylor brought together our communities for the 3Day Orientation meeting. The 3Day video was informative and was well received. Former Team Captain, Linda Kacmarsky explained to the crowd how important our 'chics' (members) were to our team and that no one, will ever be left behind. Re-playing the story of team member, Marcia D'Allessandro, who was our last team member to walk across the finish line in November. "We thought we lost her but she was taking her time pampering her feet with too many blisters to mention," stated Linda.
Captain, Carol Stacy, welcomed the attendees, renewing members and family members wanting to learn more about the 3Day. "It was a great day because as a result we renewed members and signed up 12 new members to Team W.I.S.H.," explained Carol, "It's going to be another strong team which continues to grow daily, that will walk together, raise awareness and enjoy the journey."
Team W.I.S.H. - Mobil 1 One Fundraiser a HUGE SUCCESS!!
March 8, 2008
The Car Show yesterday was a huge success and there are so many people and local businesses that deserve to be recognized and thanked for their generosity. To start we would like to thank Linda Kacmarsky and Dyanne Mogan of Team Wish of Anthem---without the two of you we never could have enjoyed the success of our event as much as we did. Team Wish is a pivotal part of these Car show/ charity events and we can't possibly express our gratitude enough. Several local businesses came out to support our efforts---some bearing food, drinks, and raffle prizes. Thank you as always to our friends at AutoZone---they donated hot dogs, chips and drinks. They are always the first to offer to man the grills and they have become an integral part of the success. Craig @ Fresca's (in the Anthem outlet mall) donated burritos that were fantastic. Tony from Rosati's brought us several delicious pizzas and donated several more to be raffled off. Sweethearts Donuts sent over several boxes full of their donuts for all to enjoy. We were happy to see Little Angels Ice Cream truck as well. Donna and Tony Gutowski made a donation and brought Tony's Pacer for everyone to enjoy! The following people donated gifts and prizes to be raffled off for Team Wish: Havana Cigars, Curves, Hand & Stone Massage Spa, Walmart, Madelyn's restaurant, Dr Chen from the Chinese Health Center, Underground Clothing, Rosati's, Sparty's, Sweetheart Donuts, Team Wish, and Caroline Menendez.

PJ Chang Marathon, Phoenix, AZ - Sunday, January 13, 2008 - Team W.I.S.H. Arizona members (L-R) Holly Baker, Marcia D'Alessandro, Stephanie Hrkmann (hidden), Carol Stacy (2008 team captain), Dyanne Mogan & Linda Kacmarksky (2004-2007 team captain) stretched their legs after a long winter's nap! Facing 38,000 participants @ 6:30 in the morning with a brisk 45 degrees, waiting for the starting gun @ 9:20am...the girls put on their 3-Day walking legs and made the trek of 13.2 miles in 3 hours, 50 minutes breaking their projected time of 4 hours. Only comment of the day...not enough potties but I guess when your a runner, you don't take the time to stop... while walkers find it important. Next goal...stay tuned!
