Breast Cancer Fundraiser @ Salon Eclectic, Anthem, AZ Pam Johnson, owner of Salon Eclectic "Anthem's Top Rated Salon" hosted a 1 day event along with her staff to raise money for Team W.I.S.H Arizona benefiting the AZ 3 Day Walk for Susan G. Komen For The Cure. Her staff of 10 FABULOUS stylist's donated their time and tips to cut hair from 9am-3pm. They were hopping busy all day with families taking advantage of the outstanding price of $15 for a haircut, which is normally a $50.0 value and raised...$1,735! "This has been an absolute fun event for all and definitely an experience to remember but most of all a pleasure to reach out to this cause that has touched all of us personally," commented Pam. Thanks to all those who volunteered, attended, worked hard, donated prizes and more! WalMart Lends a Hand
Over the next few months you might see those 'neon green' shirts in front of local WalMarts @ Happy Valley & Anthem! Our local WalMarts have been kind enough to open some space in the front of the stores, for members of Team W.I.S.H. on Saturday and Sunday (check our website calendar) for the AZ 3 Day Walk benefiting Susan G. Komen for the Cure! "Even though our economy has been in such a mess, folks still stop by and drop in dollars and change to help fight breast cancer," comments Co-Captain, Dy Mogan. "We couldn't be more pleased with the response as well as customers wanting to know more about awareness and prevention." So when you see those 'neon shirts' posted in the hot Arizona sun, you'll know it for a cause we all care about. Every little bit counts or just stop by and say hi!
Team W.I.S.H. Arizona is honored to have the Daisy Mountain Quilters donate a 'king-size' quilt (101"x101") for our 2009 fundraising efforts. Lorrie Meek, has put in over 80 hours of love & labor, hand binding & hand hemming a beautiful traditional log cabin style, fuchsia, purple, green and tan quilt with 48 blocks! Affinito's Bistro Fundraiser Third Annual "Save The Boobs" June 1, 2009 Raises $3,150 for Team W.I.S.H. Arizona benefiting AZ 3Day Walk,Susan G. Komen for the Cure
Affinito's Bistro in Anthem hosted a fun-fulled evening with scrumptious food, entertainment by Ron Parry with the bar buzzing serving 'pink drinks'. Raffle items were donated by distributors, Safeway, Fry's and the winner of the 50/50 drawing gave his winnings back to the team. A surprise appearance from the Desert Hills Bar Stool Babes made an appearance and helped by selling "Kisses for the Cure". The servers went out of their way to service the customers and in the end, donated their nights' tips of $240. The highlight of the evening came when three servers auctioned off the opportunity to shave their heads to raise money for the team - Jeff, Lee and Kyle brought in $599! Owner Sam Butitta stated, "We are proud to have TeamW.I.S.H. Arizona as our charity of choice and have an opportunity to bring the community together to support them as well. Arizona benefiting AZ 3Day Walk & Susan G. Komen for the Cure April 30, 2009
Ten Senior boy contestants vied for the title of "Mr. BC 2009" but only one, Anthony Winston was crowned after 3 weeks of hardcore persuasive fundraising and creative entertainment! In addition, Anthony was recognized as Mr. Congeniality. Along with the crowning of Mr. BC, several other titles were bestowed to Zac Coffey, Mr. People's Choice & Mr. Talent;MichaelHerry, Mr. Generosity, for raising over $600. The 10 contestants raised over $1,800 with the help of their leader, senior JenniferMielnicki & her classmates. It was an entertaining evening exposing the talents of these incredible students. The evening was highlighted by an 18-minute video provided by Susan G. Komenfor the Cure and made an incredible impace on the students and parents attending the event. Plans are already being made with support of Boulder Creek's amazing principal, Lauren Sheahan, for 2009/2010 partnership between the high school students and the team!

Students from Boulder Creek High School assisted in raising funds for the 'fabulous' car show as well as raises funds for the title of 'Mr. B.C. Congratulations to Mike & Cheryl Mielnicki for an awesome event and all their efforts!
April 30 Boulder Creek High School Crowns Mr. B.C. & Raises funds for Team W.I. S.H. Arizona Ten senior boy contestants vied for the title of Mr. B. Together all 10 contestants raised over $1,800. A special thanks goes out to Senior, Jennifer Mielnicki and her classmates for creating a 'rock & roll' evening showing off the talents and emotional side of every contestant. Linda Kacmarsky, Captain of Team W.I.S.H. Arizona stated, "The passion of these high school seniors was overwhelming and American Idol has nothing over their talents." Plans are already being made with the support of Boulder Creek's amazing principal, Lauren Sheahan, for 2009/2010 partnership between the high school students and Team W.I.S.H. Arizona. It was an amazing event with so many talented students who are going into the world of business with an incredible jump on their careers!
